The Noah SL retains the FAST technology fork with cut outs that help smooth airflow between the wheel spokes and the fork arms, but the fork crown has now been shaped to integrate smoothly into the frame for even more aero gains. The first, and two most important things about the Noah SL is that the frame has been completely redesigned, and it has gone on a diet. Obviously we couldn't ask about it, let alone take photos, but when the early spring races started in 2015, we saw that same bike under the riders of Lotto-Soudal. Gone is the integrated seatmast of the Noah RS and Noah FAST, instead replaced by an adjustable aero seatpost that's held in place with a sturdy and secure compression plug-- a design that is, in our humble opinion, much improved over the shaped external clamps of old.. It had no graphics or anything, but it looked really cool and aero. The new bike clearly shares it's ancestor's DNA, but has been updated to include the newest advances in aerodynamic technology and research. The Noah SL retains the PF30 bottom bracket and tapered headtube for an exceptionally stiff and rigid bike. The new high modulous carbon fiber frame also features a flatter, more aero shape than the previous versions, ditching the dramatic swoopy shapes for tighter and cleaner lines that slice through the air, but without sacrificing the exceptional stiffness and rigidity the original Noah series was known for..but by using a blend of 60 ton, 40 ton and 30 carbon fibers, Ridley has been able to tune the ride to smooth out any harshness by using a lower modulous carbon in areas where frame compliance is an asset instead of a liability. The frame and seatpost also feature Ridley's patented FAST technology F-Surface treatment, a sort of trip wire at key, high airflow areas on the frame that helps detangle in the wind and save you a few more watts. The revolutionary 4-arm crank is equipped with 52/36 mid-compact chainrings that give you a perfect balance of gearing for flat roads and mountain passes alike. The Ridley Noah SL 30 is outfitted with Shimano's ever popular Ultegra 6800 groupset, which brings the Grand Tour-winning technology of Dura-Ace 9000 to a competition-level price point.
