DESCRIPTION : The PF30 bottom bracket allows the use of a crankset with a shorter, beefier spindle for less flex and improved power transmission. This makes it possible to fine-tune the fit stem length and seatpost height, instead of trying to add spacers to adapt the frame to the rider. The tubes are diamond shaped for strength and durability, while the geometry and taller headtube promise plenty of comfort and exceptionally stable handling. According to Ridley, the bike offers comfort, stiffness, and strength in equal measure, but this is no take-it-easy weekend path and pavement bike. Internal cable routing not only keeps the lines of the bike cleaner and makes the frame more aerodynamic, but it also cuts down on cable slap and fouling--essential when riding over rough terrain or in muddy, wet conditions. The Fenix was created out of the lessons learned from two of Ridley's most successful bikes: the Damocles and the Excalibur, and in many ways incorporates the best aspects of both bikes. This is one of the toughest, race-ready bikes (it even has the UCI approval sticker on the downtube, for extra legit-ness) you'll find anywhere, with plenty of get-up and go.
